Data and Knowledge

Research Agenda

Data and Knowledge focuses on developing methods for extracting knowledge from data and advancing the foundations of data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. The research area combines expertise in computer science with interdisciplinary applications to address challenges across fields such as medicine, life sciences, natural sciences, and the humanities.

Research spans the entire data lifecycle, including data management, knowledge discovery, machine learning, data mining, and data visualisation. Particular emphasis is placed on interpretable and robust machine learning, scalable algorithms, and efficient computing infrastructures. By developing innovative methods and tools, the research cluster enables data-driven discovery and supports scientific advances across a wide range of disciplines.
