Models and Systems
Research Agenda
Models and Systems explores the convergence of the physical and digital worlds and focuses on the design, modelling, and development of intelligent systems that support this transformation. The research area investigates methods for representing, managing, and applying knowledge in complex systems, with a focus on sustainability, explainability, security, privacy, and distributed architectures.
By combining approaches from core Computer Science and Business Informatics, the research cluster develops models, methods, and tools for emerging technologies such as cloud computing, distributed systems, conceptual modelling, semantic technologies, Internet of Things, cyber-physical systems, and blockchain. Through design-oriented research and prototype development, new concepts and technologies are evaluated in practical application scenarios, contributing to a better understanding and integration of the digital and physical worlds.
