Conferences and publications

The DoCS have already successfully supported and helped fund a great number of doctoral candidates' conference participations and travelling abroad to international venues. Expenses for conferences, publications and other costs for conference participations and publications can be funded by DoCS if they demonstrably help the dissertation progress of DoCS doctoral candidate.

As for the conferences, A/B conferences and journals are preferred; according to the A/B Publication Strategy of the Faculty of Computer Science (The Publication Strategy of the Faculty of Computer Science is available on request. Please contact DoCS).

A prerequisite for a funded publication is the correct affiliation data provided on the paper (see the „Affiliation Policy“ of the University of Vienna or the pdf version). Because of the new affiliation policy, the DoCS has to be included as an affiliation on the corresponding paper.

Please get in touch with DoCS or your supervisor to discuss the next steps (at least four weeks before the conference takes place).

Once you have the confirmation of the funding, please be aware that you need all the bills and receipts which document your expenses, so that all expenses can be refunded accordingly.
